1. How do I move a note to another board?
To move a note to another Board, open the note, click on the name of the Board at the top right and select the desired board from the drop-down list. Save the note. To move several notes, you can use the menu in the lower left corner of the board.
2. How to transfer all data to another phone?
To transfer information to another phone, you can use synchronization with Google Drive or a backup archive.
If using Google Drive sync, follow these steps:
- On your old phone, enable Google Drive sync in Settings under "Data Storage" (if it wasn't enabled previously). Grant all permissions requested by the app.
- Start general synchronization and wait for it to complete.
- Install the application on your new phone.
- Remove any boards that are left after installation to avoid duplication.
- Enable Google Drive sync on your new phone using the same account as on your old phone.
- Perform a general sync and wait for it to complete.
If using a backup archive, follow these steps:
- On your old phone, in Settings under "Data Storage," tap "Save" and select a location to save the backup archive. Please note that Android doesn't allow saving files to some folders!
- Click the "Start" button and wait for the backup archive to complete.
- Transfer the backup file to the new phone using any available method.
- Install the application on your new phone.
- Remove any boards that are left after installation to avoid duplication.
- Open the "Data Storage" section on your new phone and click the "Restore" button.
- Find and select the backup file and click the "Start" button. Wait for the data to complete the restore.
For more information, please refer to the in-app instructions.
3. Why don't you make it possible to freely place notes without being tied to the table grid?
Unfortunately, this isn't possible. The thing is that if you make free placement of notes, you will have to give up a number of other useful functions.
For example:
-
Automatic note sorting by various parameters.
-
Resizing notes.
-
Transferring data to other devices with different screen sizes.
-
etc.
Also, the board currently has no bottom limit, so you could accidentally move a note too far down and lose it.
This feature makes sense if you only have 5-10 notes on a board. But if you have dozens or hundreds of notes on the board, then free placement will create chaos.
Furthermore, giving up the features I listed above would be a tragedy for a large number of people.
4. My note doesn't have a "Pin to Home Screen" menu item. How do I pin it to my home screen?
Home screen widgets aren't placed by apps themselves, but by your phone's launcher. The app only creates a request to place a widget. If you don't see this menu item, it means your launcher doesn't support placing widgets directly from apps. This is most likely due to the fact that your phone does not have the standard Android, but a stripped-down version of Android GO, in which some features are not supported. You can check this in your phone's Settings.
What you can do:
Option one (recommended) - You can install an alternative launcher, such as NOVA Launcher. In this case, you'll simply have the desired menu item.
Option two is to place a note as a widget, just like you place widgets in other apps. If you're unsure how to do this, long-press an empty space on the screen until a menu appears. Select "Widgets." Find the MultiNotes icon in the list of widgets and place it on the screen. A search window will then open. Enter the text to search for the note you want to place on your home screen and tap the search button. Click on the note you want and it will be pinned to your home screen in the location you specified.
It's not as convenient as placing a widget from within the app, but it's possible.
